Tidworth Garrison, Wiltshire

TGGC is a private members golf club. Founded in 1908, it is one of Wiltshire's finest courses boasting excellent turf and some truly memorableholes. Golf is incredibly peaceful at Tidworth; at any time you only view a handful of golfers as the layout meanders its way around the      eastern edge of Salisbury Plain.  From the higher ground are some striking views over the Plain.
Whilst the course owes its existence to the military (in 1895 the war department began development of a major military training area in       Tidworth); Tidworth Garrison Golf Club owes an even greater debt to legendary golf course architect Harry Shapland Colt.   H.S. Colt is world-renown for such golfing jewels as Muirfield, Sunningdale and Wentworth.
